just a few thoughts.

- paused to look at the wheel and i saw the name Austen (51?) and it wasn't crossed out. kate is still in the running!
-did anyone else notice the other things jack saw in the mirror? the place sun and jin got married...sawyer's church maybe? need to watch it again.
-think jack may have broken a record with how many times he cried in this episode. god he is so sexy though.
-jacob said jack is super important and has to do something...perhaps die for their sins? who knows, reaching.
-hurley is consistently my favorite part about this show. loved the part where he is all "oh i forgot these skeletons were in here...maybe we time traveled again and they're us!". its like the writers were making fun of us because, obviously no one has forgotten about those skeletons. and instead of telling us who they are, they just make fun of all our crazy theories. love it. also thought it was adorable that hurley was trying to reminisce with jack about walking through the jungle doing something they don't quite understand. just like the good ole days.
-next week better give me some sun.

and who the fuck is coming to the island? presumably, a whole new cast of characters we don't know, but will end up being immensely important.

A really great song

"Lovers Rock" is sub-genre of reggae where the lyrics tend to be about love, relationships, etc. Jean Adebambo was one of the superstars of Lovers Rock and has voice that sounds like it wears nothing but silk sheets. Sadly, Jean Adebambo passed away a few weeks ago. "Paradise" is a track off of her 1983 album "Feelings." This song doesn't sound like Sunday afternoon, this song IS Sunday afternoon.

I had to get that in before I start drinking for the Super Bowl.

So I promised myself I wasn't gonna watch this show....but it reminded me soooooo much of OUR Liz that I couldn't stop. There's this one scene where she puts on her giant backpack and awkwardly runs down the hall only to find out that the cute boy in the band that she likes has a girlfriend....it's like they stole Lizagirth's highschool diary and aired it on mtv.

Questions:
obviously, which timeline is actually happening? is it a one or the other thing, or is it alternative/parallel universes?
is sayid being inhabited by smokey? yes, they spread ash around the temple, but there was also ash around Jacob's cabin, where we saw Christian Shephard. if smokey is the one possessing all the dead bodies on the island (IE Yemi, Christian Shephard etc..) then the ash may protect against the smoke monster, but not against smokey possessing bodies? again, this is a long shot.
what the fuck is the deal with cyndi the flight attendant?
why did the new others let sayid come back to life and drown? was this intentional?
what did jacob's note say? was it just the list that he gave ben in season 2?
why didn't charlie run by jack and rose like in the pilot?
